Proposition 4: No

Here we go again, borrowing to spend instead of taxing to spend, and of course it’s for a good cause. Well if its cause is so good, how come we don’t budget for it?

How much of a Grinch does anyone look opposing finding for “state and local parks, environmental protection projects, water infrastructure projects, energy projects, and flood protection projects?” All of these are important, all of these deserve funding.

And what’s worse, opposing this puts me in agreement with the odious Howard Jarvis folks. I may never be able to stanch the stench.

But we simply shouldn’t be pulling at people’s heartstrings to encumber future generations with our debt. That’s the core of the opposition. And the legislature won’t have the courage to fix tax policy to create funding for these needs as long as we still vote for blank checks that don’t come due until way after current legislators are out of office.

Send them a clear message to do their jobs and budget for these needs. Vote No.
